DEAREST HACKERS,
WELL THE VICTORIA CLUB 3 PUTTED IT’S SELF TO VICTORY AGAIN. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO GO AND HAVE YOUR BUTT HANDED TO YOU ON THE END OF A 2 IRON. (WHO AM I KIDDING? I HAVEN’T USED A 2 IRON IN 50 YEARS) LET’S HOPE WE CAN GET OUR GAMES BACK TOGETHER THIS MONTH AT DOS LAGOS.
IF YOU ARE FOLLOWING THIS BS THAT I’VE BEEN SPEWING THE LAST FEW MONTHS, HERE IS A LITTLE INSIDE STORY THAT MAKES ME THINK: AT THE VICTORIA CLUB CHECK-IN TABLE I WAS DEALING WITH A SMALL PAYOUT PROBLEM WITH THE ENVELOPES, NOTHING MAJOR, JUST A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS, WELL AFTER ME FUMBLING AROUND AND MAKING EVERYTHING PERFECT AGAIN, WARD ASKED FOR MY KEYS TO THE CAR. MAKES ONE THINK
DOESN’T IT?
SMOK’EM IF YA GOT’EM,
JOHN

With five of our eight private clubs out of the way for this year, it's time to hit a few of the public courses.
June 13th takes us to Dos Lagos Golf Course in beautiful Corona. We have a 8:00 shotgun start; the Open players will be playing the White Tees at 6012 yards, a slope of 68.3/124 and the Senior players will be playing the Red Tees at 4924 yards, a slope of 71.0/118.
Dos Lagos is a par 70 golf course designed by Matthew Dye, of the renowned Dye family, and has been voted golf course of the year, by the Touchstone group in 2012 and 2019. There is a snack shop that does NOT serve breakfast, but Dos Lagos is providing us a hot dog lunch which is included with your entry fee and there will be a beverage cart on the course. One thing that Dos Lagos does not have is a driving range, so plan accordingly.
See you at check in.

We had a good player turnout for a beautiful day of golf at Victoria Club. The icing on the cake, for me, was definitely not my game, but that 99.9% of the groups used the Golf Genius online scoring app. Thank You!
It's time to start making your plans for Singing Hills!
The Singing Hills Invitational at the Syucan Golf Resort will be here before you know it.
This LACFGA event started in the early 70's and to this day, remains one of our most popular and highly attended events.
Members that have played this event in the past already have the dates, September 18 - 21, circled on the 'ol calendar. For members that have not played this event, let me give you a quick run down on some of the things you have missed;
- The event starts Monday night, 9/18, with the the Calcutta Auction. (El Presidenté is in rare form as he auctions off the Calcutta teams)
- Tuesday morning the tournament starts with a 0800 shotgun start at Singing Hills
- Tuesday afternoon is an optional Scramble (Always a fun event)
- Wednesday morning is a 0800 shotgun start at Steele Canyon
- Wednesday afternoon is an optional Derby. (If you haven't experienced the Derby, you haven't lived!)
- Wednesday evening, after the derby, is a Dinner with Prize Money from the first two days handed out.
- Thursday morning, last day of the event, is a 0800 shotgun start at Singing Hills
- Thursday, after the round, is Lunch with Awards and the final Prize Money handed out.
Add in Golfing with your Fire Buds, Cigars and a Cocktail or ?, it doesn't get much better than that!
All of the SHI event information is on the LACFGA website and can be accessed by clicking HERE.
Wether you are a SHI regular or have never played SHI, I hope that you will make 2023 the year that you come out and join us for the Golf and the Reindeer Games!
See Y'all on the course,
TOB Out!
