ANYWAY, THERE I WAS, IN THE SPA, A GREAT CIGAR IN ONE HAND AND A FINE ADULT BEVERAGE IN THE OTHER, THINKING ABOUT 2022 AND HOW PROUD TOM PEACOCK WOULD BE OF OUR CLUBS STATUS, HOW FAR WE HAVE COME SINCE HIS PASSING, WITH THE ADVENT OF SCORE KEEPING ON OUR PHONES, PAYING ON LINE AND GATHERING NEW MEMBERS.  HE SET SOME VERY HIGH STANDARDS FOR OUR CLUB AND I THINK MIKE AND WARD HAVE EXCEEDED

THOSE HE SET.  THOSE TWO GUYS CARRY THE LOAD FOR THIS OLD GUMMER AND I, LIKE YOU, CERTAINLY APPRECIATE IT.  I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR BEING SUCH LOYAL MEMBERS.  THERE AREN’T MANY CLUBS THAT SELL-OUT EACH MONTH, HAVE 90% SCORING VIA PHONE AND 99% PAYING

ON TIME.  SO THANKS FOR THAT AND HOPE TO SEE YOU IN THE COMING MONTHS.

The 2023 tournament schedule has been posted on our website.  Mark your calendars for what will be a great year of golf.  You will notice eight of our tournaments are at private clubs.  Many of our public courses from the past are not willing to host us or have priced us out.  Example Oak Creek: before covid was $70, now it's $160 and they sell out every day.  We are trying to keep prices down but as you can see it is a challenge.

 

Monday, January 23rd, with a 9:00 shotgun we return to Yorba Linda Country Club.

The Open players will be playing the Reagan Combo Tees at 6356 yards 

71.2/127 slope.  The Seniors will be playing the Red Tees at 5830 yards 68.5/

120 slope.  The driving range and putting green will be open. There will be a

beverage cart on the course and the bar will be open after the round.  A box lunch is included with your entry fee.

Here we go, a New Year and a New Golf Season!

 

2023 is going to be a great year for LACFGA.

 

If you have looked at the Monthly Play schedule you might have noticed that I have added the date registration opens and closes for each event.  You may have also noticed that there will be an overlapping of open event registrations.

 

As before, each event has an event number and noting that number on your payment is extremely helpful.  I use the event number to filter for payments that have been made for each event.  A couple of the payment options have limited space for notations, so just noting the event number & your name is greatly appreciated.  Entering “Event #” before the number causes the registrants name to be truncated or totally dropped from the notation.

               Improper notation entry:        Event # 2301 for Yorba Linda John Doe
