SHAMBLE, SHAMBLE, SHAMBLE What is that?
A shamble is, you and your partner both tee off. You pick the best drive and play your own ball from there through the hole, record both scores. There will be the usual KP's, Skins and Par3 games. The flight winners will be awarded by team. This will be a good warm up for the S.C.F.G.A. Las Vegas Shamble at the Revere Golf Course May 4th and 5th. Registration for this event is now open.
Monday March 9th, with a 9:00 shotgun start we head to California Country Club. The Open Players - Gold tees, will be playing at 6531 yards with a slope of 71.2/124 and the Senior Players - Whits tees, will be playing at 6098 yards with a slope of 69.1/119. C.C.C. does not have a driving range but there are some nets you can hit balls into to warm up, there also are practice putting greens. The snack shop will be open at the turn. The restaurant and bar will be open after the round with a limited menu.
The course is in excellent condition and should set up well for our Shamble tournament.
C.C.C. was built in 1950, designed by William Bell JR, yes the same guy that designed Torry Pines.
