Monday February 9th, with a 9:00 shotgun, we return to Yorba Linda Country Club.  The Open players will be playing the White Tees at 6179 yards 70.0/123 slope and the Seniors will be playing the Red Tees at 5830 yards 74.6/131 slope.  The driving range and putting green will be open.  There will be a beverage cart on the course and the bar will be open after the round.  A box lunch is included with your entry fee.

Registration is open for the S.H.I.T.S. tournament, Singing Hills In The Spring that is, March 31st and April 1st.  This is a two-day low-key Net tournament with tee times Tuesday starting at 10:00, a 9-hole Scramble, 8:00 am Shotgun start Wednesday, prize money and head home or like many of us stay an extra night at the casino to order a Seafood Tower, then head home.  Casino room rates this year for us is $110 per night, these rooms go for over $300 much of the time.

Registration will soon be open for the SCFGA Vegas Shamble tournament May 4th and 5th. The tournament is a two-day partner's best ball event played at the Revere Golf Club.  There are two courses at Revere, the Lexington and Concord, both are wonderful and challenging.  We have a group rate at South Point Hotel Casino; 15 minutes from Revere, or you may stay wherever you like.

LACFGA Needs You!

Thanks to the 500 members of our association, we play some of the best golf courses in Southern California.  Other golf associations do not play near the quality of golf courses we have and they don't get enough players to have a shotgun start.  Here's how you can help, BY SIGNING UP, participating in our tournaments.  Many of the private courses we play require 100 players.  So, if you want to continue to play top private country clubs sign up and get your fire buddies to join in.

I am not sure if you have noticed, but John’s right arm is 4 inches longer than his left.  After many hours of deliberation, bourbon & cigars, we have concluded that it is due to the weight of “The Box” John brings to our tournaments.  All the unclaimed winnings envelopes are weighing the box down.  The list of unclaimed envelopes quite extensive.

As a test, winnings for the 2026 January Monthly were paid to each player as a credit card refund to the card used to pay tournament fees.  The exception to this was, a player that won more than he paid for the event & a player that was added to the roster as a replacement player & did not register for the event. (The two players from January that met these criteria were sent their winnings via mail)

Going forward we will continue to pay out tournament winnings via a refund & work on exhausting the list of unpaid winnings by paying the outstanding winnings.  The remainder of the outstanding winnings will be paid via F&A Transfer, Venmo & Mail.  If you have outstanding winnings, be patient, this is a work in progress and will not happen overnight.

This only applies to LACFGA tournaments only and not other events like SCFGA Tournaments & The Inferno.
