Your Tournament Director
by Ward Olson

Monday, November 17th with a 9:00 shotgun start, LACFGA returns to

Red Hill C.C.

Red Hill has a shirt that must be tucked in policy, not sure if it will be enforced for our tournament, but be prepared.

The Open players will play the White Tees at 6357 yards with a slope of 71.5/127 and the Senior players will play the Gold Tees at 5289 yards with a slope of 66.5/114.

We are limited to 100 players, due to the number of golf carts Red Hill has.  There will be a bar set up on the golf course, that you will pass several times.   A box lunch will also be provided.  The driving range and putting green will be open, range balls included.

December 8th we will play Alta Vista C.C. with our annual Christmas banquet after the round.

Registration for this event is now open.

(This is a very popular event that will sell out)

Next year's schedule is almost completed and will be posted soon. We start out January 12th 2026 at the Huntington Club with a 10:00 am shotgun start.

February 9th 2026, with a 9:00 am shotgun start, Yorba Linda Country Club.

Looks like we are in for another great year of golf.

SOSDD!

Expired LACFGA memberships and incomplete or improperly completed scorecards, it's really not that difficult.

Prior to your LACFGA Membership expiring, SCGA will send you at least two reminder emails, which includes the date your membership expires and a link to renew your membership.  Click on the link in the email and renew your membership, it's pretty frick'n simple.  Now if you want to make it "Almost" Fireman proof, click the "Auto-Renew" option, then each year your membership is automatically renewed.  The "Almost" part is that you have to remember to update your credit card information when you receive a new card.  95% of the time when I receive a phone call, text or email that starts with, "I am trying to sign up for the "XYZ" event and my name does not come up" it is due to an expired membership.

Scorecards are another item that seem pretty straight forward and easy to work with, so I thought.  Some of Y'all out there are treating your scorecards as an exercise in "Creative Writing!"

So again, let's review how to properly complete a scorecard.
The "Out" column is where each player's Gross Score Total for the front nine holes is recorded. (Gross Score: The actual score shot, no handicap adjustments)

The "In" column is where each player's Gross Score for the back nine holes is recorded. (Gross Score: The actual score shot, no handicap adjustments)

The "Total" column is where each player's Gross Score Total for the front and back nine holes is recorded. (Gross Score: The actual score shot, no handicap adjustments)

The "STRK" column is where each player's playing handicap is listed. (STRK is the scorecard abbreviation for Strokes)

The "Net" column is where each player's Net Score is recorded.  (Net score for each player is their Total Score minus their Playing Hcp)

Come on Y'all, it's not rocket science, complete your scorecards correctly & completely.
