3 LACOFD ENTRIES, ANDREW JIMENEZ, PAUL PEREZ AND MYSELF.  CONGRATS

TO ANDREW WHO TOOK HOME A SILVER MEDAL IN SINGLES.  IT WOULD BE

NICE TO SEE A FEW MORE COUNTY GOLFERS IN NEWPORT BEACH NEXT YEAR.

I HAVE NOT BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE GOLF COORDINATOR FOR NEXT YEAR

Welcome to Summer Fellow Golfers,

 

As I write this, it's a refreshing cool 115 degrees in Lake Havasu, a perfect day for golf.  July 16th, with a 8:00 shotgun start, we will be playing Tijeras Creek Golf Club.  The Open Players will be playing the White Tees at 6206 yards with a slope of 69.7/126 and the Seniors will be playing the Red Tees at 5130 yards with a slope of 65.0/111.  There is a driving range, practice balls NOT included with your entry fee.  Tijeras Creek will have a beverage cart and a snack shop at the turn.  The restaurant and bar opens at 11:00 am.  Registration for this event closes July 10th at 9:00 am.  To register for this event click HERE.

 

An invitation as been extended to LACFGA for The Knights of Columbus (Sun City Council 7846) Charity Golf Tournament at Bear Creek, with proceeds from this event going towards the LACoFD FF's Memorial & St. Vincent Ferrer Church Building Funds  For event information click HERE.

 

I would like to thank Mike Henley for taking over the INFERNO golf tournament.  There were118 players, Mike Henley, Brian Murphy, with a little help from Mike Conti, did a great job.  Thanks guys for helping lighten the load of running golf tournaments.

 

Time to sign up for S.H.I. (Singing Hills Invitational) September 15th-18th.  For all those who have never played or have not played S.H.I. in a while, it's about time to show up.  The courses have been remodeled and are better than ever. Now that we are staying at the Sycuan Hotel and Casino it adds a whole new dimension to the tournament.  The hotel has many restaurants and of course you can try your luck at the gaming.   Line up your trades and get your days guaranteed.

• Monday - starting at 1:00 pm is a practice round at Willow Glen.
• Monday - 6:30 pm Calcutta auction Wachena room #1 open bar.
• Tuesday - 8:00 am Shotgun Willow Glen
• Tuesday - 3:00 pm Scramble Willow Glen
• Wednesday - 8:00 am Shotgun Oak Glen
• Wednesday - 3:00 pm Derby Oak Glen
• Wednesday - 6:00 pm Banquet @ Singing Hills Magnolia room. Prize money
• Thursday - 8:00 am Shotgun Willow Glen
• Thursday - 1:00 pm Banquet @ Singing Hills Magnolia room. Prize money. 

 

I have tried to make the tournament registration process as “Firefighter Proof” as possible, so at this point I am convinced that some members are just FUBAR!

 

Here we go again, KP’s (Closest To The Pin) are NOT included in the Basic Tournament Fee.  KP’s are an option which must be added if you want in.

 

So far this year we have had 4 players who were not in the KP game sign one of the KP cards & 3 players who were in the KP game sign the wrong KP card.  All this does is screw over those players that follow behind you.

 

If you are unsure what options you are in, refer to your Registration Confirmation email.

If you deleted the email, you can check your registered Options, Tee, Best Ball Partner & Requested Pairings on the Association website.

 

From the event page; i.e. July Monthly, August Monthly, SHI; click the “Event Registration, Registered Players, Event Pairings & Results” link.

Now, hover your mouse on the “Pairings” option and from the drop-down menu click the “Players & Options” link.

Scroll to your name and see what Options & Tees you chose when you registered.

By clicking on your name, or another players name, you will get more detailed registration information.
