LOOKING AHEAD TO THE NEW YEAR, ON MARCH 11^TH CALIFORNIA C.C., WE’LL BE HOSTING OUR FIRST 2 PERSON SHAMBLE EVENT.  IT’S A SIMPLE FORMAT, EACH PLAYER HITS OFF THE TEE, SELECT THE BEST SHOT TO PLAY THEIR NEXT SHOT FROM, FROM THIS POINT ON EACH PLAYER WILL PLAY THEIR OWN BALL UNTIL HOLED OUT.  RECORD THE BEST GROSS AND NET SCORE OF THE TWO.  WE SHOULD HAVE 2 OR 3 FLIGHTS, SO DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO FIND SOMEONE THAT CAN TOLERATE YOUR POOR DRIVING ABILITIES.  IF YOU CAN’T FIND THAT PERFECT PERSON WE WILL TRY TO ACCOMMODATE YOU.  JUST

SINGING HILLS WILL BE A REAL TEST IN 2024 AS THEY ARE CHANGING THE ON SITE HOTEL INTO DORMS FOR THE NEWLY ACQUIRED SOCCER TEAM AND TURNING THE PAR THREE COURSE INTO PRACTICE FIELDS.  THE BOARD IS IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH THE FOLKS AT SINGING HILLS

TRYING TO WORK OUT THE LOGISTICS FOR OUR EVENT.  THE S.H.I.T.S. TOURNAMENT, IN APRIL, SHOULD GIVE US A GOOD FEEL AS TO WHAT WE CAN EXPECT FOR OUR CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT.  WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED AS SOON AS THE FINAL CHANGES ARE INKED.

 

F.Y.I. THE COUNTY FD SAVED THE CITY FD (AGAIN) ON OCTOBER 30^TH AT RANCHO.  YOU CITY BOYS KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!!!

Monday November 13th with a 9:00 shotgun start, LACFGA returns to Red Hill C.C.  Last year it rained out so let's hope for good weather this time.

 

The Open players will play the White Tees at 6357 yards with a slope of 71.5/127 and the Senior players will play the Gold Tees at 5289 yards with a slope of 66.5/114.

 

I am sorry to say, this tournament is already sold out.  We are limited to 100 players due to how many golf carts Red Hill has.  There will be a bar set up on the golf course that you will pass several times.  A box lunch will also be provided.  The driving range and putting green will be open, range balls included.

 

December 11th we will play Alta Vista with our annual Christmas banquet after the round.  This is a very popular event that will also sell out.  Registration for this event opens November 1st 08:00. 

As Ward mentioned, the November Monthly at Red Hill C.C. is sold out with a dozen players on the waitlist.

 

For those members that did not get into the Red Hill event, but are still looking to golf on the 13th, our LASD Brothers have extended an invitation to LACFGA members to play in their fund raiser at Western Hills C.C.  For information on this event see the document below.

 

Registration for the December Monthly at Alta Vista opens tomorrow, 11.01.23 at 0800 hrs.  Just a heads up, if you are one of those members that has let your LACFGA membership expire you will not be able to register for Alta and I will be unavailable until Wednesday night to deal with membership renewals.
